Cooking with Jill

Jill and Pat have a very tight schedule. So I set up Movie Wednesdays to be able to see either of them more often. I suggested to Jill, after seeing one of said movies, that we should cook together sometime (she’s going to culinary school)!

She was free this past Wednesday so we set it up, and all I really contributed to the menu was “I want to make butternut squash soup, something with pork and something with brussel sprouts”. After we had pretty much no communication on the menu, I was frantically trying to figure out some things to make, but in the end she was prepared with a 4 course meal. I handled dessert and made a chocolate soufflé.

The Menu:

Butternut Squash Soup

Braised & Roasted Spicy Cauliflower with Red Wine Braised Beets & Goat Cheese

Roasted Brussel Sprouts with Red Grapes, Balsamic, Thyme, and Rosemary

Mustard Crusted Pork Tenderloin with Caramelized Onions & Lavender-infused Honey

Chocolate Soufflé

The meal was delicious, and we all had a great time cooking and hanging out. I look forward to the next time!
