What an eventful weekend. Dan and Brandi finally tied the knot! It’s been a long journey and I was ecstatic to be there.
Per usual, I spent a lot of the ceremony and reception getting video for my wedding gift – the video! And as is customary, I will (hopefully) deliver it to them by/on their first anniversary.
I’ve watched Dan and Brandi spent countless hours getting everything organized and watching it all come together was a delight.
Brandi surprised Dan with a “guestbook” that was the top of a bourbon/whiskey barrel. It looked awesome and the end result really turned out great.
Dan even added an amazingly nerdy entrance for the bridal party to the wedding! The groomsmen couldn’t resist a little fun with them prior to entering though.
I also made a GIF!
The music you aren’t hearing is the Imperial March for the groomsmen & bridesmaids, before erupting into the main theme for the grand entrance of the newlyweds.
The food was excellent. I personally ordered the quinoa cakes because I had never had any before and they sounded interesting. Packed full of flavor, they were dense but delicious. I could only eat one, after that I was full; he salad with the rosemary sweet vinaigrette was delightful, and for desert…cupcakes! I only tried the cookies & cream one and salted caramel – rich and scrumptious.
Lots of work friends were in attendance. Dan has been working at Laser Mech for over 20 years now, and so it’s only natural that those that have known him for so long would be there to celebrate the grand occasion.
And of course my table ended up being the raucous party table (at least we thought so). We are a lively bunch for sure. Were that I was at the table for more than 5 minutes at a time, but I had lots of video to capture!
And of course, no event of this caliber is complete without some gratuitous selfies!
As is customary, I tore up the dance floor along with the rest of my table. This time I had some great dance partners in Kenny, Mikey, and Jessica! And let’s not forget the bride and groom! I had the pleasure of dancing with both of them more often than I had anticipated. I’m sure my coworkers learned some new things about me that night.
Definitely some of the most fun I’ve had at a wedding. At one point, they played Time of My Life from Dirty Dancing and Tyler had lifted up two of the groomsmen for that iconic scene. Then I heard my name and a signal that it was my turn. So I ran at him and I did my best to maintain a good plank. I like to think I was the best one out of everyone that was lifted. I also hope that someone got that on video or picture and will send it to me. Definitely one of my favorite memories of the night and for years to come.
Happy Wife, Happy Life. Don’t forget it Dan! I look forward to many more years of being your friend, shenanigans, adventures, and seeing the two of you grow old together. Thanks for inviting me to your special day, I had an insanely fun time.
